We interupt the regular scheduled programming of the Blog for an important announcement!
As you know I have offered to help Candi Jensen, Executive Producer of Knit and Crochet Today bring awareness to the public about the need for underwriting dollars and private donations.
Folks we’re starting to get down to the wire, and yes Candi has secured some new underwriting dollars, and yes the donations are beginning, but we are only about half way to where we need to be in order for Season 3 to hit the airwaves in January! By the middle of September we need to be fully funded! So, crocheters, knitters, yarn lovers if you can donate $5, $10, $20 or heck $50 to the show, you will be listed as a donor on the website and make history!
Did you know that the show is the number one rated of it’s kind in the USA? And it even got nominated for a Regional Emmy!
If you haven’t been able to see the show, you can check it out on the Detroit PBS Website! If you want a sneak peak of Season 3 check out this interview with Debbie Maccomber on the Knit and Crochet Today Website!
And to donate? Easy peasy just go here! http://www.knitandcrochettoday.com/donate.html
You can also sign up for the upcoming newsletter and register to get free patterns! YAY! Check it out!
If you can help please do! This is such a great show and Candi Jensen is a brave and talented woman for tackling such a great venture!

CLF Member adr1enne made this gorgeous wrap using Motif 6 from Edie Eckman’s book Beyond the Square.
This wrap wins our hookaclicious award! I love the motifs, I love the colors and I love the wrap.
If you haven’t checked out Beyond the Square by Edie Eckman it’s a fabulous book of motif patterns, with suggestions in cartoon for for project ideas! I bought the book when it came out, but haven’t had much chance to use it, since my daughter took it for her own use and I am probably gonna just have to knuckle under and buy myself another copy!
Once again I shall say, I LOVE THIS WRAP! It should exactly what we can do with a simple idea, some hooks and some yarn! Congratulations adr1enne!
Check out her project notes on Ravelry, for they too were excellent!

Hi folks! Today is the LAST day to vote for your favorites in the first annual Flamie Awards 🙂
As of tonight 12am PST the vote closes and we get to work to make the real fun start!
So if you haven’t voted, GO VOTE!
Remember you don’t have to be “qualified” you just have to know what you like! If you haven’t had a class, then obviously you won’t vote for the teachers 🙂 Etc..etc…etc…
NOW here’s some real exciting news. The Crochet Liberation Front First Ever Book is now available as a PDF download for only $9.99 now that is a total steal!
I could have released it earlier, but I thought I’d wait for (inter) National Crochet Month!
Ok, I am so not giving into this bizarre moment in time…I have a life and it includes taking over the world with crochet…DO YOU HEAR ME! We’re TAKING OVER THE WORLD WITH CROCHET!
I feel significantly better now : )
So, how are we dominating the globe with our hooks?
1) Still accepting submissions up until Februrary 20th for the Adult Crochet Book 🙂 See the writers guidelines for more details. If you are going to submit, PLEASE read those and follow them…especially the PHOTO guidelines which are at the BOTTOM of that web page.
2) An in print magazine requested the Crochet Liberation Front First Ever book for review! I sent it off yesterday!
3) We’re working on the first annual Crochet Awards “Flamie”, and are partnering with Mary B. Temple of Getting Loopy!
4) We are in the early planning stages for our Retreat in 2010
and I am busy making plans for Porltand in May for the CGOA regional meeting at the Knit and Crochet Show, and saving my pennies to shuffle off to Buffalo in August…I’ve already decided to take the train, because well it’s more sedate than flying! I make a five hour stop in Chicago on the way, so anyone who wants to do an event with fearless leader can contact me 🙂 GRIN
Well, I’ve made some corrections to the CLF First Ever Book…so as I was going to do the third upload during the week before Christmas, and um…well…cough…got snowed in! Now I shall do it, so for those of you who have been waiting to purchase the book with all it’s corrected glory, you can do so in the next few days! Probably by Monday, if not sooner 🙂
Thanks for your support in this very first endeavor. I am so looking to the next two books to use all of my new found knowledge and skills, and man it’s gonna be great!
So, stay tuned, I’ll let you know when the CLF First Ever Book is up and for sale once again 🙂
Hooks Raised, CLF Salute!

I don’t know about you folks, but Fall has flung itself firmly down in my part of the world. We had our first of the autumn winds blowing my car around the road yesturday, and it was back to sweaters, scarves and hats. In fact it almost froze the other night! That’s a wee bit early even for us!
So with cold weather on my mind (and in my bones) I give you this stunning hat made by CLF Member Cristi. It is a totally hookalcious offering, love the colors she chose and she has a lovely hand!
The pattern is available for free on the internet and is by designer: Rheatheylia. You can get the pattern from her website
So the Hookalcious award goes to Cristi for this very cool hat!
